On March 16, 2021, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga inoculated himself against COVID-19.

This is the first of two vaccinations that are coming up for the Japanese politician as part of his immunizations ahead of his meeting with Joe Biden in the US. The visit is scheduled for April.

After the vaccination, Suga noted that he was practically in no pain. The Prime Minister once again urged the public to be vaccinated. The Pfizer vaccine is now available to health care workers in the country, and from April, vaccinations will be given to the elderly.
