An icon of the world-famous Shibuya Crossroads, the Shibuya Tsutaya building is currently under urgent renovation. Nevertheless, this emblematic center will soon reopen - on April 25, shortly after the cherry blossom season ends. Opened in 1999, Tsutaya's flagship store was a multi-story mixed retail space where visitors could purchase or rent CDs, DVDs, and books.

Interestingly, the strategically located building became widely known, mainly due to the presence of a Starbucks café on its lower levels, where visitors could sit by the window and enjoy unrestricted views of the busy Shibuya intersection. However, in October 2023, the building was temporarily closed for renovation to better meet modern needs.

Additional cafes and seating areas will be located on floors five through eight.
