A man suspected of involvement in one of a series of terrorist attacks in Japan in the 1970s died Monday morning, a law enforcement source said. The man, who recently confessed to being the alleged bomber named Satoshi Kirishima, had been in the hospital with terminal cancer.

The man died of natural causes at a hospital in Kanagawa Prefecture near Tokyo, the source said.

The man, who last week confessed his identity as Kirishima, is known to have been living under the name Hiroshi Uchida, law enforcement sources previously claimed.
