The musicians have toured the country's major cities and are now performing in Tokyo.
The band now features only two of the former lineup - guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor. The soloist is the brilliant Adam Lambert, finalist of American Idol2009. Of course, it's hard for him to reach the charismatic Freddie Mercury, but in general it feels like the same old Queen - powerful, energetic, exuberant, sometimes unexpectedly lyrical.
Tokyo residents warmly welcomed the artists. They know and love the songs from the band's repertoire. The concertgoers sang along to many of them with a powerful chorus of thousands.
The audience also rejoiced at the unexpected appearance of holographic Freddie Mercury, who in his inimitable manner performed a small fragment of one of the songs and was met with a storm of applause.
Today, Tokyoites are looking forward to another encounter with the artists.
The show goes on!
