The mayor of Shibuya District is asking residents and visitors not to come to Shibuya for Halloween this year.
Every year, during Halloween, the most popular place to celebrate is the streets of Shibuya. However, this year, the mayor of Shibuya District, Ken Hasebe, is urging people to refrain from visiting Shibuya during Halloween. Moreover, as in previous years, the consumption of alcohol on the streets and in public places in Shibuya is prohibited during Halloween weekend.
From Oct. 27 to Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m., alcohol consumption is not allowed on streets and public places around Shibuya Station, including the main street of Center Gai, where about 100 security guards will be on duty.
