Sapporo is one of the five largest cities in Japan. In 1972, the Winter Olympics were held here.
It is easy to get here from Tokyo or Osaka, as there are regular flights to Sapporo from these cities. It takes only a few hours to get here, and you are already on the island of Hokkaido. Especially many tourists gather here in February, when the annual snow festival is held. In summer, Sapporo is cooler than Honshu Island, and walks in green parks fill you with energy and lift your spirits.

- The symbol of Sapporo is the tower Sapporo Clock Tower. The clock tower was built in the 19th century and was one of the first European-style buildings in Hokkaido's capital city.
- Sapporo TV Tower was built in 1957. Previously operated as a repeater, it is now one of the most famous observation platforms in the city. The height of the tower is 147 meters. It is located in the Central Odori Park. In the winter, this park becomes the site for the annual snow festival.
- Hokkaido Jingu Shinto Shrine - Hokkaido's main Shinto temple. A shrine dedicated to the gods who, according to legends, helped the "pioneers" of the island in its exploration.
- Ishiya Chocolate Factory. and its famous Shiroi Koibito brand are truly a hallmark of not only Sapporo, but of Hokkaido as a whole. Located in a picturesque area of the city, the factory combines a chocolate history museum with a well-chosen collection of antiques, as well as a working production line that takes you through the making of the famous Shiroi Koibito, with much of the process visible up close. Thanks to this unique combination, in just a few hours you will learn about the history of chocolate, enjoy amazingly beautiful art objects, see how chocolate is made, and, of course, experience the richness of its flavor. And there's an extra treat for children: every hour, the doors under the clock on the tower of the main factory building open and cheerful characters, accompanied by an equally cheerful orchestra, begin their performance.
- Mount Okura - Symbol of the 1972 Olympics. Okurayama Ski Jump, Winter Sports Museum, observation deck. Complex is located on an area of 8.2 hectares. It can accommodate up to 50,000 spectators. The stadium was built in 1931 by Kishichiro Okura with the support of Prince Chichibu, brother of Emperor Hirohito. After completion, it was donated to the city of Sapporo. The complex was extensively reconstructed twice before the 1972 Olympics and the Winter Universiade in 1991. A 1998 renovation allowed skiers to jump even in the summertime.
