Most tourists only have the opportunity to see real sumo wrestlers fight during sumo championshipswhich are held in Japan six times a year: in January, May and September in Tokyo, in March in Osaka, in July in Nagoya and in November in Fukuoka.
Our company offers a unique opportunity to see sumotori (sumo wrestlers) even closer by attending one of the morning training sessions of sumo wrestlers. This is an exclusive offer, as sumotori training sessions are usually closed to foreigners!
Attending a morning training session of sumo wrestlers and having a "pullko-nabe" breakfast with sumo wrestlers

Time: 9:00 - 13:00
What's more, after the training, you can use the interpreter to personally interact with the wrestlers and with them to have a traditional sumo breakfast of shanko-nabe.. This dish is a large cauldron in which meat, fish, numerous other seafoods and vegetables are boiled. Sekitori (wrestlers of elite divisions) are usually the first to eat from the cauldron. Young wrestlers are the last to eat. In a day sumotori must eat at least a kilogram of shanko-nabe and more than half a kilo of rice.
Important! There are very strict rules that apply when watching a workout.
- No food or drinks may be brought in!
- Talking, chewing gum is also prohibited, as is the use of flash when shooting with a camera.
- Attendance at practice is not possible the week before and after major sumo championships.
- The cost depends on the date and the number of people in the group. Group (from 10 people) and individual attendance of sumo wrestling training is possible.
- After the training it is possible to organize a tour of Tokyo. The cost and content is discussed additionally when ordering a tour.
We would also be happy to organize your visit to the Sumo Championships and help you purchase the best seats in the grandstand!
