Osaka is one of the largest industrial, commercial and cultural centers of Japan. The third (after Tokyo and Yokohama) most populous Japanese city has the character of a businessman, a worker and... a student. The city is home to many universities. In the evenings on its streets you can meet groups of young people with guitars, which gives Osaka a very peculiar youth flavor.
Osaka has 2 airports, a developed network of subways, roads and railroads. It is a beautiful modern city with many public gardens and parks, diverse and sometimes quite bizarre architecture.
Osaka can be divided into the business north and the historic south. In the northern part of the city there is a Renaissance-style building of the city municipality (1821), the Stock Exchange (the second largest and most important in the country) operating since 1878, offices of major companies and banks.
Tour "Osaka - the city of merchants and samurai"

Tour time: 10:00-18:00
- Osaka-jo - the main historical landmark of the city - the most beautiful lockIt was erected by Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1585-98. This fortification, serious for those times, provided an echeloned defense on three lines. From the outside, the castle seemed light and bright thanks to the 42-meter-high watchtower with white walls. Osaka-jo was called the "golden castle" because of the abundance of gold ornaments on the gables of the castle. The castle, which later became an important symbol of the Tokugawa clan's rule over western Japan, was almost completely destroyed in 1868 by troops loyal to the emperor. In 1931, only the Main Tower was rebuilt from the original structures, which offers a beautiful view of the city. Now there is a Historical Museum, which tells about the life and culture of samurai. At the end of World War II, the castle was damaged by American air raids, but was rebuilt in 1995-97.
