12:30-13:00 - wedding ceremony. It takes place according to a strict ritual in which every movement is filled with sacred meaning. At the entrance to the temple, the bride and groom wash their hands with sanctified water, sip three times from special sake cups and swear an oath of fidelity to each other in front of the gods. The rings are exchanged, the priest blesses the new husband and wife, and Heaven announces the birth of the new union.
